Federally Patented Innovation

Engineering cleaner air with a patented Nigerian invention

Benemes International is home to the Air Pollution Strainers (APS) a direct carbon capture technology registered and patented by the Federal Republic of Nigeria. From our base at the Technology Incubation Center in Port Harcourt, we design, build, and deploy engineering solutions that take carbon straight out of the air where it's produced.

Direct carbon capture from the source of emissions storage and utilisation, engineered in Nigeria.

Who We Are

A Nigerian technology incubation company, built around one patented idea

Benemes International operates out of the Technology Incubation Center under the Nigeria Board for Technology Incubation in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Our flagship invention, the Air Pollution Strainers (APS), is a split-unit direct carbon capture system: one unit installed right at the point of emission, and a processing unit positioned nearby for monitoring, evaluation, storage, and utilisation.

The system captures over 98% of emissions at the source before they reach the atmosphere, helping industries offset their carbon footprint while advancing UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 9, and 13 good health, industry & infrastructure, and climate action.

How It Works

From point of emission to clean, monitored air

APS is engineered as two connected units, so capture happens right where the emission is produced not downstream, after the damage is done.

Stage One

Capture at the source

The strainer unit is fitted directly at the emission point a factory exhaust, a generator outlet, or a vehicle tailpipe intercepting gases before they disperse.

Stage Two

Monitor & evaluate

A processing unit positioned nearby continuously evaluates what's been captured, so operators know exactly what's being removed from the air.

Stage Three

Store & utilise

Captured carbon is held for safe storage or routed for utilisation, closing the loop instead of letting it re-enter the atmosphere.

Our Inventions

One capture technology, engineered for every source

Three purpose-built variants of the Air Pollution Strainers, each designed for a different emission source.

Industrial

Factory Hazardous Gas Capture APS

Rotates as it captures dangerous gas emissions and particulates, maintaining a safe working environment on factory floors.

Our Impact

Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Capturing carbon at the source doesn't just clean the air, it advances goals that matter to industry, government, and public health.

03

Good Health & Well-being

Reducing generator and industrial fumes at the source lowers the everyday health risks that come with poor air quality in homes and workplaces.

09

Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure

A locally engineered, federally patented technology gives Nigerian industry a homegrown route to cleaner, more resilient infrastructure.

13

Climate Action

Direct source capture helps industries offset their carbon footprint, supporting national and corporate climate commitments.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

A quick primer on what APS is and how it fits into a facility, home, or vehicle.

What exactly does an Air Pollution Strainer do?

It intercepts gas emissions and particulates right at the source a factory exhaust, generator outlet, or vehicle tailpipe before they disperse into the surrounding air, then routes what's captured to a processing unit for monitoring, storage, or utilisation.

Who is APS designed for?

Three variants cover industrial factory floors, residential and small-business generator setups, and vehicles anywhere combustion produces emissions that would otherwise reach the open air untreated.

Is the technology protected?

Yes. APS is registered and sealed under Nigeria's Patents and Designs Act, CAP 344 LFN 1990, with Patent No. RP: NG/PT/NC//2019/4013, patentee Benemes Nigeria Limited.
